If you’re in the market for a new, inexpensive smartphone or a backup to your main device, I have a great deal for you. Motorola’s 2024 Moto G Play LTE once every few days during normal use.
The main downside to the phone is its lack of 5G support. It is limited to 4G LTE for its cellular connectivity. This isn’t bad necessarily. 4G LTE will still provide reliable coverage at decent speeds. However, it’s not as good as 5G. 5G is better across every metric. It’s faster and more reliable, as 4G LTE is more susceptible to latency.

According to ZDNET’s rating system, I rate this deal 4/5. Paying just $100 for a 2024 smartphone shouldn’t be scoffed at. This is a highly dependable mobile device with an outstanding battery life and solid hardware, retailing for less than a pair of AirPods. As Miller recommended in this review, the Moto G Play is a great backup phone and a good first mobile for teenagers.
