The smartwatch tracks practically every sport in the book, and you can hook golf club or bike sensors up to the watch to gain insights directly from the Fenix 8 Pro.
There are a few highlights to the Fenix 8 Pro that make it the fan-favorite that it is. The first is the flashlight on the smartwatch, which Garmin devotee and ZDNET smartwatch reviewer Matt Miller deemed ultra-useful in his review. It’s got a MicroLED screen for vibrant and vivid visuals. The smartwatch also has satellite communication features, so you can call or text without your phone handy, though you’ll need to pay for Garmin’s subscription to activate emergency satellite calls.

If you are someone who doesn’t mind a bulky watch, you’ll have little issue with the heft and thickness of this one. It’s 2mm thicker than the Fenix 8, so this smartwatch is best suited for people with large wrists who prefer heavy watches. If that’s not you, consider one of Garmin’s other, smaller watches.
The Fenix 8 Pro is best for people looking to exercise or hike outdoors, ideally off-grid, so they can use those satellite communications features if need be, and for someone looking for a high-tech, advanced activity tracking device.
